Weekend Turnaround

It’s the weekend!

Stepping away from the fast-pace to quiet the soul is a crucial element of living our best.  This is not a new concept. It’s been instituted since the ancient days as Sabbath, which creates space for the *slow-down. There is a resurgence of life when we take time away from the daily grind.

It’s common to allow negativity invade our thoughts and attach to our narrative.   This negativity becomes our focus and personal truth.   A turnaround is needed.   In business, the turnaround is a retrenchment strategy, undoing a previous decision to prevent harm to its profitability.

Negativity is problematic.

Negativity is not productive.

Negativity is not profitable.

Negativity is preventable.

Living without negativity is freeing.

Remove the negative words, thoughts, feelings, and actions, meditating on the life-truth:  “If, God  is for us (me) then who (what) can be against us (me)?”  (Concept from Romans 8:31).

The turnaround begins with the words, “God is for me.”

Exchange the negative words in your narrative with these four words, detaching from the power and pressure of negativity, attaching to the truth God is for you.

If,  negativity is directed toward an individual, then, add to the narrative, “God is for me and ________.”

Let go of the things you hold against an individual, reformatting the negative image you have formed, seeing the person made in the image of God (see Genesis 1:26-28).  Sometimes it’s helpful to imagine peeling off the layer we’ve painted over the masterpiece God has created the person to be.

If, our negativity is from worry and angst from a situation, then, add to the narrative “God is for me and all these details will work together for good” (see Romans 8:28).

We will never know what will occur or where we would go next, if, we remain in a negative mindset.  The thing is . . . negativity is a key element . . .  of a victim mentality and life-style.  Daily exercising of the mind with truth develops a pathway of positivity and possibilities, changing a mindset of negativity and impossibilities.

Slow-down.  Turnaround from the negativity.  Experience more.

  • Pause.
  • Breathe.
  • Breathe deeply.
  • Focus on the presence of God.
  • Be aware of the areas negativity has entered into your life.
  • Focus on the words, “God is for me.  God is for __________. I forgive ________.  The details will work together for good.”
  • Give thanks.
  • Breathe.

As always, you are invited to take a seat at TableThink‘s virtual table and join the conversation.

Grab a cup of coffee, tea, or something.  Find a sweet spot during the weekend to breathe, slow-down, and turnaround.

It’s the weekend: Breathe. Slow down. Turnaround. ~Kerrie

*The thing is . . . living without space for the slow-down opens the door . . .  to increased stress, exhaustion, and illness.  The slow-down is essential to our well-being and overall health.
