There was a time when I tried to do everything on my own; however, I learned there’s a soul-deep need for God and one another to live strong. Along the way, I had one of those “aha” moments. I could wait for life to change, adjusting as necessary or I could implement change by changing how I live.
It may seem easier to manage life on your own. The thing is . . . I know this for sure . . . aloneness produces pain. Living this life without a relationship with God and one another eventually leads to depression and even devastation.
The ancient leader, Moses, gave advice which applies to you and me:
These words need to be underlined at the center of our life, reminding us that no matter what comes our way, we’re able to live strong and brave in the midst of it all, knowing we’re never alone.
Wisdom says we live strong as a cord of three strands . . . self . . . God . . . and community:
To live strong requires intentionality to be in an active, ongoing, participating, and healthy relationship with God and one another.
- To live strong is to live well.
- To live strong is a daily decision.
- To live strong is a blessing, never to be taken for granted but to be grateful and humbled for the opportunity.
Live strong. You are not alone.
